Description

15 November 2010

This seminar examines the dilemmas currently faced by Aboriginal leaders, community members, governments and other agencies as remote communities expand and develop. Utilising the case study of Wadeye, the presenter will explore the implications of increasing population, housing and infrastructure development, and a restless youth sector. It will also examine some of the underlying reasons for youth conflict in the community and how such conflict is portrayed and ritualised.

Presenter
Dr Bill Ivory - Youth Health and Well-being, Healing and Resilience Division at Menzies
