In September this year a group of  18 civilian nurses, paramedics and doctors went to Kot Addu, Pakistan with the support of AusAID to start a clinic offering basic medical treatment for some of the thousands of people affected by the July floods.  Australian Defence set up logistics and joined the medical workforce which saw 5000 people in the first month.   Dr Ruth Lennox is a Paediatrician with 11 years' experience working in rural Bangladesh.  She was released from her work at Menzies in order to join the Pakistan team and gives a personal account of her experiences there in acute clinical medicine.
